Concerts
Neus Plana Turu (flute and body percussion) and María Camahort (guitar and arrangements) are two versatile artists who share a solid classical training and a mutual desire to approach other worlds beyond the score. Since 2017 they have been working as a duo on this project investigating music to which they are attracted, using rhythm as a common thread. Seeking his own approach to the different songs, dances and works, his current program combines works by classical and contemporary composers with pieces worked on and expressed from orality, corporality and improvisation. A musical journey influenced by melodies / themes from the 16th-17th centuries (Folies, Chaconne), oral traditions of different cultures (Sephardic, Turkish, Catalan songs) and written music. Since its presentation at the end of 2017, Duo is born has performed in different venues and festivals, among which: Casa Elizalde (Barcelona), the Tarragona Conservatory, Musical Youth of Tarragona, Music Festival in the Gardens (Pau Casals Museum, the Vendrell), Garrigues Guitar Festival, Note 79 (Barcelona), Calonge Festival, Museum of Fine Arts (Castellón de La Plana), Modernist Campus of San Pablo (Barcelona), Conservatory of Tortosa, Music in the Parks, Capuchin Auditorium (Juventudes Musicales de Figueres), etc. In November 2018 they presented their project in London, at the prestigious Milton Court hall and in Cervantes theater, the only theater in the British capital specialized in Spanish and Latin American dramaturgy. After an Artistic Residency at the La Plana Foundation in September 2019, his next projects include concerts and workshops in Catalan territory, as well as different places in the Spanish state.
