The instrumentalist, composer and musical entrepreneur Vinícius Muniz presents his first solo album. In the repertoire, works by J.S. Bach with unpublished translations made by the musician for the Brazilian ten-string viola (viola caipira). This album is the result of intense musical research work carried out by the young man. The proposal of the concert is to offer a specific focus on Bach’s work based on the contemporary techniques and languages of the Brazilian viola. The result is a sound that seeks to balance the two cultural and musical universes in question: on the one hand, the work of Bach, monumental in the history of Western music; on the other hand, the sounds of the viola caipira and its links with the traditional culture of the interior of Brazil. Furthermore, as a way of revealing this search to bring the viola caipira closer to concert music, a small interlude is also opened within the show for the interpretation of other works related to the thought of concert music based on the viola.
