Verace Duo is a project created with the aim of enhancing Italian musical tradition and broadening its horizons through the voices of plucked instruments. Marco Surace (Rome) and Emiliano Verrino (Rome and Berlin) are graduates of renowned conservatories in Italy and Germany. Both musicians teach respectively in important music centres in Italy and Germany and give concerts internationally as soloists and in ensemble form. This 2024, on the occasion of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death, the two musicians will embark on their new project 'Pucciniana': instrumental and vocal music by the great Lucca maestro will be performed arranged for guitar duo and for guitar and mandolin. The great musician Giacomo Puccini, author of the greatest operas, can well be said to be the true successor of the celebrated Boccherini. The most famous arias are Puccini’s most successful works, operas accompanied by his instrumental music and Verace Duo pays tribute to the great Maestro from Lucca. They will also perform a piece by the young composer Gaia Aloisi, who wrote a tribute to Puccini for the Duo (Gaia Aloisi – «Vedrem levarsi…» for two guitars, 2024).
